The Ministry of Health reported that, For the third consecutive day, more than 5,000 infections were registered, with 5,280 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Since Friday, infections of over 5,000 have been reported, on Friday with 5,325, and on Saturday, with 5,037. Of the 5,280 new cases, 3,562 are with symptoms and 1,439 asymptomatic, reaching a total number of 855,785 since the pandemic began in our country.
With this, the number of cases that are in the active stage of the virus reaches 28,557. On the last day, 63,583 PCR tests were performed, with 8.19% positivity.
The regions that reported the most new cases this last day were the Metropolitan (1,662), Biobío (723), Valparaíso (451), Araucanía (441) and Los Lagos (380.
In addition, the health authority reported 69 deceased people registered in the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), thus totaling 21,077 deaths.
Currently there 1,777 people hospitalized in intensive care units, 1,535 of them on mechanical ventilation, and 183 critical beds were also reported.
