The seremi de Salud del Maule, Marlenne Duran, gave new details about the family that was without masks at the Jumbo supermarket in Talca, a fact published on March 2 on social networks. When the clients rebuked them, a member of the family group pointed out that in “Santiago no one uses them (the face masks) anymore.”

“They entered with a mask and once inside the establishment they took them off, so the supermarket guards saw them in the first instance with these elements on their faces,” said the seremi. Radio Biobío.

“The sanctions are individual, in the same way that the responsibilities are. This is why each person in the family group risks sanctions, which can range from a verbal warning, up to 1,000 UTM (about 50 million pesos approximately), ”said the health authority.

Durán added that the investigation was carried out in the same supermarket, which provided the images recorded by security cameras. Thanks to them, it was verified that the family group entered the premises with masks. Once inside, they were removed, to which clients and guards immediately urged that they be put back on.

“Finally, he was allowed to buy these people so that they could retire as soon as possible, in addition to having an ongoing investigation,” concluded the seremi de Salud del Maule.

According to the seremi of Health of the Metropolitan region, Paula Labra, the subjects received a sanitary summary in the parking lot of the enclosure.
