After a meeting with the ANFP board of directors, the presidents of the Second Professional clubs ratified this Friday their decision not to play the 2021 tournament under the conditions agreed in the Council of Presidents of the ANFP.

Through a joint statement, the clubs appreciated the willingness to talk but they ratify their position of not playing if they do not change their mind in the Council of Presidents.

“To date we do not have a favorable response to the just request that the clubs of the Second Professional Division have made. Therefore, we communicate that all the teams that make up this division unanimously uphold the decision not to play the Second Division Tournament 2021 Until the quota in question is replaced, the delivery of economic contributions for the division is regulated and recognition work begins at the leadership level, allowing once and for all that the Second Division has a voice and vote in the Council of Presidents of the ANFP ”, they explain.

They warn that if the situation does not change, the clubs will initiate judicial and administrative actions in search of a solution.

“We call, particularly to the presidents of the clubs that are members of the First Division and First B of our country, to make their criteria more flexible and support eventual modifications to the championship bases that the ANFP Board of Directors could present and thus correct the act unjust in which Chilean professional football falls today, which directly violates the principles of equity and sports justice ”, they add.

Remember that in the Council of Presidents last Tuesday it was decided that the champion of the Second Professional Division has to play a game against the penultimate of the First B to be promoted, removing the direct quota that they previously possessed.
