After meeting on Wednesday night, The 12 Second Division clubs agreed not to participate in the 2021 tournament if the measure adopted by the Council of Presidents is not reversed of the ANFP regarding limiting direct promotion to First B.
This was explained in a statement signed by Sports Valdivia, Independiente de Cauquenes, Colchagua, Colina, Recoleta, Vallenar, Limache, Iberia, General Velásquez, Fernández Vial, San Antonio Unido and Rodelindo Román.
“In a day that will be marked by abuse and inequity, the First A and B clubs decided to eliminate the quota for direct promotion to the Second Division and they force the champion of our tournament to dispute his fair quota with whoever is last, without respecting the basic principles of competitiveness and sports equity as there is no parity of economic conditions “, they comment.
“This unfair and abusive determination by the Council obliges all Second Division clubs, without exception, not to participate in the tournament to be played this year 2021, since with the above all the foundational characteristics of a sports competition are lost, not other than equity, sports justice and equality “, they add.
In the statement they explain that were summoned by the ANFP leadership to talk for this day, Friday 5 to seek solutions to this “arbitrary action that affects more than 300 professional players and hundreds of professionals and workers.”
