The award for Best Drama Film went to the Canadian production ‘Nomadland’. The film, directed by Chloe zhao and starring Frances McDormand, tells the story of a woman who leaves her hometown to undertake a journey through the western United States, in addition to showing the sacrifices and sorrows that the working class lives.
Based on the book Nomadland: Surviving America in the 21st Century written by Jessica Bruder, it also won the category of Best Director, who made history by becoming the second woman to triumph in the directing category, after Barbra Streisand with Yentl in 1984.
