A 35-year-old man was killed on Route 150, between Tomé and Penco —in the Bío Bío region—, after strangers shot at the truck he was driving.
The Carabineros arrived at the place to verify what was reported in the first instance as a traffic accident, however, when they arrived at the scene of the event, they noticed that the vehicle had different marks of bullet holes.
This was confirmed by the governor of the province of Concepción, Julio Anativia: “Carabineros personnel are established at kilometer 17 of Route-150 between the communes of Tomé and Penco due to a possible traffic accident. When arriving at the place it is verified that it is a Mitsubishi brand truck, which was on the side of the road with ballistic impacts on its structure, injuring the driver and his companion “.
“As a result of the injuries, the driver is declared deceased at the scene by SAMU personnel that was established in the sector,” he said.
The authority said that the companion of the deceased man was transferred to the Tomé hospital out of risk of life, adding that the person who was killed had a criminal record for robbery with homicide.
Meanwhile, the expert reports were in charge of the Homicide Brigade of the Investigative Police.
