This Wednesday the president Sebastian Piñera announced the Extension of the Emergency Family Income (IFE) and Covid Bonus for March and April, which will benefit “more than 2 million homes and more than 5.2 million people” depending on sanitary conditions.
Both the IFE and the Covid Bonus are intended for vulnerable families that have been affected by the pandemic and that were in communes in Quarantine, Transition, Preparation or Opening.
The amounts go from $ 100,000 per member to $ 25,000 per member, according to the phase of each commune.
For the extension of the benefits, the Government indicated, two application processes were established: between the March 5 and 15 for the March payment; and between the April 8 and 18 for the April payment.
As in previous months, requests will be made through the website www.ingresodeemergencia.cl.
For the contribution corresponding to March 2021, Piñera explained, the health situation of the communes will be considered for the five weeks elapsed between January 25 and February 28, both dates inclusive.
For the contribution corresponding to April, the health situation of the five weeks elapsed between February 25, 2021 and March 31, 2021, both dates inclusive, will be considered.
As in the February process, those who receive Unique Family Subsidy (SUF) and are part of the Seguridades y Oportunidades System (SSyOO), They should not request the IFE or the Covid Bonus on the website, as they will automatically receive payments if they meet the requirements.
