Fire consumes warehouse of industrial park in Concón: no injuries were reported | National

A structural fire completely consumed one of the warehouses of the Industrial Park, located in Concón, Valparaíso region, during the night of this Monday. No injuries were reported.

The incident specifically affected a company warehouse Marpro Industrial Detergent.

According to Radio Bío Bío, sand they registered explosions inside the place, due to the type of products that were burning inside the warehouse. Among them were a large quantity of soaps, shampoo, detergents and alcohol, which made it difficult to control the emergency due to the flammability of the elements.

The commander of the Viña del Mar Fire Department, Gonzalo Román, indicated that all the firefighters of the garden city were mobilized to control the fire.

Controlling the situation was made difficult at one point due to they needed fire extinguishers and the water was not enough. However, according to the commander, the fact of having declared an emergency early was key to achieving control of the flames.

In order to extinguish the fire, support had to be requested from the Esval company, the municipality of Concón, ENAP emergency units and two cars from the Valparaíso fire department.
