The Ministry of Health reported that 2,330 new cases of covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours, 1,779 correspond to symptomatic people and 437 do not present symptoms.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with covid-19 in the country reaches 784,314. Of that total, 20,958 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 743,306.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours 15 deaths were registered due to causes associated with covid-19, Therefore, the total number of deceased amounts to 19,659 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 24,914 PCR tests were reported, reaching a total of 8,834,416 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 9.35% (the highest in 37 days) and in the Metropolitan Region it is 6%.
“We see that the infections are decreasing, but we must be cautious and continue to take care of ourselves by maintaining all self-care measures,” said the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris.
To date, 1,579 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 1,376 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 239 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
