The North Central Prosecutor’s Office is waiting for the proceedings entrusted to the Theft Investigation Brigade (BIRO) of the PDI to determine the responsibilities in the alleged kidnapping and attempted robbery that ended with a child under 1 year and 11 months wounded by gunshot in the Los Reyes de Santiago Park.

About it, the PDI does not rule out the possibility of a reckoning noting that the victim had received threats from a woman the day before, in which she was warned that they could harm her son.

This was confirmed by Subprefect Jorge Aguillón, head of BIRO Centro Norte, who also anticipated that They expect to take a statement from the author of the threats as the accused.


The mayor of Santiago, Felipe Alessandri, assured that they have provided the information they managed to collect and that they will continue to carry out work in the sector to improve visibility and try to reduce crime.

However, the councilor for the commune Miguel Morelli expressed his concern about the situation, stating that at least since two years ago there was an increase in criminal acts.

Along these lines, the mayor stated that the municipality is not able to counter the situation.

According to the images analyzed, the two involved carried out shots in the air to scare the victim and after he resisted they used the weapon again.

At that moment, one of the projectiles wounded the minor, who was transferred to the Félix Bulnes Hospital, where it was found that the injury was minor.

For the moment, the police have not ruled out hypotheses related to the settlement of accounts or possible loans drop by drop, this in consideration that the victim, a 40-year-old man of Peruvian nationality, he is a traveling merchant and that the two subjects who were traveling by motorcycle have not yet been identified.
