Born as Lucas Balmaceda, the 28-year-old artist gave an extensive interview to Ya magazine, where she told how the transition process was and how her family received the news.

But why Lux?

And when I was talking to my friends about my transition and they asked me about my new name, that memory came, “he said.
But that was not all, as it was also inspired by a character from the movie Suicidal Virgins scored by Sofía Coppola. “Her name was Lux, which is light in Latin … I like the memory of childhood and that my previous name means something that I was looking for in myself”, added.
The actress acknowledged that unlike other people who start their hormone therapy, the name was not a subject that she took lightly, but was given in the process. “I was like two months taking hormones calling me Lucas”, acknowledged.
Of course, that was a name that he always liked a lot, and that even “I always believed that it had something feminine, that it was related to the person that I also was.”
