Mirta Ardiles, mother of 12-year-old Melissa Chávez Ardiles, was in preventive prison, who was murdered in Villa Talinay – Cantera de Coquimbo sector, Coquimbo region – on November 26, 2020 and whose body was found after a fire in that place.
The woman was arrested on Tuesday by the Investigative Police, taking place at noon on Wednesday the respective control of detention and subsequent formalization by the Public Ministry, where both the plaintiffs and the defense attorney presented their arguments and evidence.
After the formalization hearing, the Coquimbo Guarantee Judge, Diego Rubí, ordered the precautionary measure already indicated.
Likewise, Rubí set a 180 day investigation period, in order to conclude with the respective investigations.
Finally, the judge highlighted that the crimes charged to Ardiles -parricide and fire- with the most serious penalties penalized by the Chilean system in terms of criminal matters.
