The Rancagua Appeals Court suspended for three months from his functions – and with half a salary – the guarantee judge of that city, Luis Barria Alarcón, for sexually harassing two officials of that court.

The investigation of the judicial prosecutor’s office of that court, accredited two complaints -among them lascivious compliments and unnecessary bodily contact, and filed charges, and in the first instance, the Supreme Court in November granted him as a precautionary measure the suspension of two months of his work .

Now, the plenary session of the Court of Appeals of Rancagua, suspended it for three more months, and also asked the highest court in the country, that the magistrate be transferred to another court.

This was explained by the subrogated President of the Rancagua Court of Appeals, Ricardo Pairicán.

In total, there were four women who accused of being sexually harassed, however, the court dismissed two of the cases on the grounds that one of them did not have the status of complainant and the other because it was prescribed.

Furthermore, the Rancagua Court of Appeals did not consider it necessary to open a notebook to remove the magistrate.
