The producer and screenwriter of The Simpsons Marc wilmore, nominated 10 times for an Emmy Award in his lifetime, passed away from complications of covid-19 at age 57, as reported on social networks by his brother Larry Wilmore.
“My sweet brother, Marc Edward Wilmore, passed away last night battling covid and other conditions that have caused him a lot of pain for many years,” Wilmore’s older brother announced on Twitter, describing one of those responsible for The Simpsons as a “nice, nice and funny” person.

Wilmore, born in California, began his writing career in the 90s on the comedy show In vivid colors (1990), of which he later became part of the cast.
His work as a screenwriter on that show earned him his first Emmy nomination, and he would later go on to work on the popular late-night show. Tonight’s Show Starring Jay Leno.
Later, Wilmore was named co-executive producer and writer of The Simpson, and from the animated series F is for family (2015), where her voice was used for characters that appeared occasionally.
After knowing the death of Wilmore, several were the scriptwriters and comedians who paid tribute to him on the networks.
“Another huge talent that has been taken from us too soon,” said the writer of The Simpson Michael Price. “I had the privilege of working with Marc Wilmore on 3 shows (…) for a good part of the last 23 years and he was the funniest person in the room. And a wonderful man. It is irreplaceable, “he added.

Comedian Matt Oswalt and actor David Alan Grier also described Wilmore as a “very nice man” and “very funny.”
Wilmore’s departure adds to the recent death of fellow screenwriter David Richardson, who worked on The Simpson, Malcolm in the middle (2000) and Two and a half Men (2003).
