The actor Dustin Diamond, known for his role as Powers of Samuel “Screech” in the series Saved by the Bell, died at 44 years old.

The news was revealed by the TMZ portal, which assured that the interpreter was accompanied by his girlfriend at the time of his death on Monday morning.

The artist, who suffered from stage IV lung cancer, had been in serious condition since last week.

Just a few days ago, Diamond had completed his first round of chemotherapy, having been diagnosed with a small cell carcinoma, in January.

The actor sought medical help after beginning to feel pains throughout his body and a feeling of general discomfort, for which he was admitted to a hospital in Florida, United States.

According to TMZ, the actor’s cancer would have started in another part of his body and, by metastasizing to the lungs, it caused the problems that set off the alarms.

Through Facebook, the Diamond communications team confirmed the information. “He was diagnosed with this brutal and relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago. In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout your system; the only pity he exhibited was his quick and sharp execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to remain submerged in pain. For that we are grateful ”, they assured.

“Dustin Diamond was a character unto himself: an unpredictable spit that always left us shocked, but never bored. We are grateful that you have trusted us enough to share your genuine and authentic self with our team. I wish they knew him like we did. We ask that you leave space for the privacy of our team and Mr. Diamond’s family during this tragic time, as we mourn and remember the memories we had together. This loss is as painful as it is sudden, ”they added.

In December 2013, Dustin appeared on an episode of Where Are They Now? and became a member of the twelfth season of Celebrity Big Brother.
