12 people were surprised inside a clandestine cabaret in Curanilahue, Bío Bío region, a commune that is in quarantine.

Between both confinements that the commune has had, five premises have been notified with a ban on operation.

In a night operation, PDI officers together with staff from the Health Department, they found 8 men and 4 women inside a house that functioned as a clandestine cabaret in the province of Arauco.

Regarding the latter, they are all of Dominican nationality; of which 2 are illegally in the country and 2 are in an irregular situation.

The 12 people were arrested for flagrant violation of article 318 of the Penal Code.

The local questioned was denounced more than once by the neighbors, due to the attention of the public inside, where at the same time alcohol was sold. This was pointed out by the commissioner, Hernán Mangas, deputy chief of the Lebu Investigation Brigade.


Despite all these antecedents, the local Arauco Prosecutor’s Office ordered the freedom of the individuals.

To date, adding this quarantine and the previous one in Curanilahue, five stores have been closed for not complying with health regulations, reported the local citizen security chief, Édgar Vásquez.

In its latest covid-19 balance, the commune added 27 new cases, leading this item in the province of Arauco; reaching a total of 1808 cases, of which 127 are still active.
