Entertainment site TMZ claimed that the Canadian actor Elliot Page (33) undertook divorce plans from his wife Emma portner (26), after three years of marriage.

The couple got married unexpectedly in January 2018, after six months of relationship. The news of the wedding came through Instagram, when Page uploaded a photograph of both hands with rings with a sincere writing. “I can’t believe I can call this extraordinary woman a wife,” was the sentence he dedicated.

However, this Tuesday it was revealed that the star of Juno submitted all legal documents to dissolve the union.

For now, the reasons for this eventual separation are unknown.

This separation occurs just two months after Elliot came out as a transgender man, after reporting his homosexuality in 2014.

It was in early December last year that the actor published an open letter communicating his gender identity.

“Hello friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are ‘he / they’ and my name is Elliot”, reads at the beginning of the letter.

“I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have reached this moment in my life. I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me throughout this journey, ”he added.

After the announcement, Portner gave her support through an emotional writing on Instagram, in which she claimed to be “very proud.”

“Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world,” he began.

“I also ask for your patience and privacy, but that you join me in fervently supporting trans life every day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in itself. Shine my sweet E. I love you very much ”, he closed.
