Her message is a response to a previous comment that Trump made to the activist. “A very happy young woman who looks to a bright and wonderful future,” he commented ironically in September 2019, in the midst of the media rivalry of both figures.
Recall that the activist has always been against the figure of Trump, an opinion that was overcrowded since the remembered speech at the UN summit, held in New York in 2019, in which Thunberg accused political leaders of betraying his generation for their inaction in the face of climate change.
To this was added a video captured at the meeting that went viral that evidenced the young woman’s reaction when she saw Trump entering the room. The young woman goes from serenity to seriousness in a matter of seconds when the president arrives. As a result of that the hashtag #AllGreta became popular with his followers.
Although Thunberg continued to demonstrate his political positions in 2020, when he called on Americans to vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden on November 3.
“From a climate point of view (Biden) is far from sufficient and several of you surely supported other candidates. But, well, you know … Just get organized and get everyone to vote for #Biden””, The young woman tweeted on that occasion.
His rivalry with Trump was on the rise every time he poked fun at both climate change and the activist. On the contrary, the situation is very different with Biden, who highlighted Thunberg’s actions last April, ensuring that he pays attention to the aspirations of youth on climate issues.
