Carabinieri clarified the assumption kidnapping happened last night in Santiago and that it was reported on social networks by neighbors.

The situation occurred in Santa Isabel with Maimonides, when two individuals were recorded forcibly loading a third subject into a van.

The North Central Prosecutor’s Office ordered the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) of the Investigation police to find out what happened, but the Carabineros was the institution that explained the fact.

As reported by the institution, after the situation described above, they received a complaint from domestic violence, moving to Santa Rosa street.

There, they met with the parents of a psychiatric patient age 31, who stated that the individual had a decompensation and ran away from home.

Therefore, they went looking for him and they found him on the public highway, moment in which the situation that was denounced as kidnapping occurs.

When he returned home, he again tried to flee launching from a third floor towards a tree, then fall to the ground.

For this reason, he was injured and was assisted by SAMU personnel, finally being transferred to the former Central Post.

In this way, a kidnapping case was ruled out. This was pointed out by Commissioner Carlos Orellana, of the Metropolitan BIPE.

Orellana confirmed that the van was found in the former Central Post. There it was found that the psychiatric patient is injured after the fall and that the other two protagonists of the video are his brothers.
