The vaccination order against COVID-19 in Chile according to the Minsal plan

He Ministry of Health provided details of the vaccination order against COVID-19, process that began more than 3 weeks ago with health personnel.

So far 13,186 people have received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, while 6,907 were already inoculated with the second.

The Government aims to complete the vaccination of priority groups during the first quarter of the year, to reach 80 percent of the population (about 15 million people) at the end of the first half of this year.

Priority groups

  • Health personnel (begins with the Critical Patient Unit – UPC).
  • People residing in Long Stay Centers (includes Long Stay Establishments for the Elderly, Sename centers, people with physical and / or mental disabilities).
  • Critical staff of the State Administration.
  • People over 65 years of age.
  • People with comorbidities.

On January 11, The Minsal outlined in detail what the vaccination order will be in the country.

Stage 1

First group:

  • All the clinical / administrative health personnel of in-hospital and out-of-hospital care and emergency services that includes: medical, dental, clinical support services, radiology services, pharmacy, anatomy services, food, transportation, security and cleaning.

Second group:

  • Residents and officials of Eleam, Sename and mental health centers.
  • Officials of health residences and Telethon.
  • Adults over 80 years old.

Third Group:

  • Personnel with critical functions in the ministries, the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Regional Governments.
  • Essential personnel of direct attention to citizens: Fonasa, Isapres, IPS, AFP, Civil Registry, ChileAtiende, Compin, BancoEstado, Cajas de Compensación, SAG, Airports, Bus Terminals, Seremi de Salud inspectors.
  • Staff of essential functions in community pharmacies, both communal and private.
  • Laboratory personnel conducting SARS-CoV-2 detection.
  • Personnel of the Forces of Order and Security, Armed Forces deployed in an action plan for coronavirus

Stage 2

First group:

People over 65 years of age, according to age group and approval of each vaccine:

  • 75 to 79 years (430,954 people)
  • 70 to 74 years (615,340 people)
  • 65 to 69 years (844,335 people)

Second group:

People with comorbidities, according to the approval of each vaccine:

  • Chronic lung disease (bronchial asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, tuberculosis under treatment)
  • Neurological disease (congenital or acquired neuromuscular, which determines swallowing disorders or the management of respiratory secretions, refractory epilepsy under treatment)
  • Chronic kidney disease (kidney failure stage 4 or greater, dialysis)
  • Chronic liver disease (cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, liver disease)
  • Metabolic diseases (diabetes mellitus, congenital metabolic diseases)
  • Heart disease (congenital, rheumatic, ischemic and cardiomyopathies of any cause)
  • Arterial hypertension in pharmacological treatment.
  • Obesity (BMI> 30 in adults and adolescents BMI> +2 SD)
  • Autoimmune disease (lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and others)
  • Cancer in treatment with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapies or palliative measures of any kind
  • Immunodeficiencies (congenital or acquired), people living with HIV on ART with CD4> 200 cells / mm3 and viral load of less than 1,000 copies.

Stage 3

First group:

  • People who develop functions in Onemi, Conaf and Firefighters
  • People work in basic services companies: electricity, gas, water, telecommunications, power generation, fuel distributors, household waste collection, sanitary landfills, manufacture of chemicals and pharmaceutical products.
  • People who work in transport companies: metro, public locomotion drivers and railways, transport of securities.
  • People who work in the transport of critical products: food, clinical supplies, medicines.
  • Gendarmerie personnel and persons deprived of liberty.

Second group:

  • Nursery schools and people who work in nurseries, kindergartens.
  • Teachers and people who perform functions in preschool, basic and secondary education establishments.

Third Group:

  • General population, according to the approval of each vaccine
