The president of Republican Party, Jose Antonio Kast, expressed through a letter addressed to the party presidents of Chile Come on, the willingness of your community to reach an agreement to apply with a unitary list to the Constitutional Convention.
The former presidential candidate proposed 13 candidates to be included in an eventual single right-wing list for the April elections.
“Through this letter, we want to formalize the disposition of the Republican Party of Chile to go into a unitary agreement with the parties of the Chile coalition Let’s go for the choice of conventional constituents to be held on April 11, 2021 ″, was the introduction of the letter addressed to Javier Macaya (UDI), Rafael prohens (RN), Andres Molina (Europe) and Rodrigo Caramori (PRI).
Later, Kast stated that for his community “the election of the conventional constituents It is one of the most important elections in recent years in Chile“, in addition to adding that” those who are elected will have the difficult task of structuring the agreements and understandings that allow us to draft a Constitution that governs us for at least the next 40 years“.
Therefore, the politician thanked in advance the availability of the conglomerate to negotiate an eventual agreement on the matter, as well as that of the government.
“To achieve this objective, we value the disposition and will of the Chilean parties. We are going to achieve this unitary agreement that will allow us, beyond the legitimate differences that we have, to achieve a better representation in that Convention,” said Kast, adding that ” We also want to assess the efforts and the willingness of the Government to make this agreement a reality, efforts that have been important to materialize this understanding. “
The list of candidates proposed by Kast included, among others, the former mayor of Iquique, Myrta dubost and the ex-deputy Sergio Correa de la Cerda.
