On that occasion, Minister Paris was also consulted on the matter and denied that covid-19 was the main cause of deaths in the country, which he acknowledged on Monday and explained that it was because the complete statistics were not yet available.
Regarding the current situation of the covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health reported 2,450 new cases, of which 1,751 correspond to symptomatic people and 645 to people who do not have symptoms.
In this way, the total number of people who have been diagnosed with covid-19 in the country reaches 620,641. Of this total, 16,626 patients are in the active stage.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours there were zero deaths due to causes associated with the coronavirus, due to the long weekend and that the Registry Civil operated with fewer personnel.
Likewise, the total number of deaths corresponds to 16,767 in the country since the start of the pandemic.
