During the day on Sunday, the Osorno Guarantee Court ordered total house arrest against John Vargas, a man accused of having run over two minors in the Rahue Alto sector.

The subject was charged with the crimes of driving while intoxicated resulting in serious injuries, denial of assistance, fleeing the scene of the accident and violation of the health regulation, since he violated the quarantine of weekends and holidays that governs the commune of Osorno.

The events allegedly occurred on the afternoon of January 1, on Walterio Meyer Street upon reaching Don René, at which point the man lost control of his car, ramming two girls, 11 and 12 years old. One of them was left with serious fractures, while the other remains life-threatening.

Along with the house arrest, the Court set 120 days for the investigation, also ordering the retention of the defendant’s driver’s license and national roots.
