A violent traffic accident was registered at the intersection of Avenida Ecuador with Padre Hurtado, in the caletera of the General Velásquez highway, near the Central Station.

The incident occurred during the morning of this Sunday between a smaller vehicle that was circulating through Ecuador towards the west and a taxi that was circulating through Padre Hurtado to the north.

According to the driver of the city car, he was traveling on an emergency basis with his wife, who had previously had health problems, after a failed call for an ambulance.

In this context, a red traffic light passed at said intersection, after which it hit the passenger vehicle, in which a person was traveling, sideways.

As can be seen in the images, firefighters had to break the roof of the taxi to rescue the injured passenger, who was hospitalized at risk of life, as well as the co-pilot of the private car.

Meanwhile, according to Radio Bío Bío at the scene, the two drivers survived unharmed.
