From this figure, 13,942 were registered in the Metropolitan region, 1,863 in Valparaíso and 1,068 in Biobío.
Along with this, it was highlighted that as of December 31, 698,047 cases of COVID-19 have occurred (612,564 with laboratory confirmation and 85,483 probable, without laboratory confirmation), with a rate of 3,587.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The highest cumulative incidence rates per 100,000 inhabitants, according to laboratory-confirmed cases, are found in the Magallanes region (10388.4), Tarapacá region (4893.2) and Metropolitan region (4449.6).
Meanwhile, the document reported the 20 communes with the most active cases of coronavirus, a list that heads the commune of Montt port, which presents 681 cases. Then, the communes of Iquique (568), Antofagasta (511) and Chillán (501) continue.
