This Thursday 31 was going to be a key day in Reinaldo Rueda’s future as coach of the national soccer team. For days that the strategist was out of Chile, negotiating with the leadership of his country to take over the combined coffee and in the morning the president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, had announced that “there will be news today.”

This afternoon, according to information obtained by La Tercera, the Colombian coach will not continue directing La Roja. According to sources familiar with the negotiations, the ANFP will receive approximately $ 500,000 in compensation, which is less than a quarter of what was contained in the termination clause in its contract, since US $ 2.23 million was the original clause .

Rueda would have gotten rid of paying it if he quit, but he must have been out of work for a year. From the Colombian Federation they indicate that they still do not have a full agreement with the DT, but that they are in the process of that, which they have already communicated to the Chilean association.

This Monday the new sports director of the National Team, Francis Cagigao, will arrive in Santiago, who already brings a shortlist of names to replace Rueda in the national bench.

Since Reinaldo Rueda took office in January 2018, the National Team played 27 matches, of which he won nine, tied eight and lost another 10. Of course, of those commitments only 10 were official duels, in that case the balance is three victories, two equalities and five falls.

Earlier, President Milad had told Radio Cooperativa in Talca that “there are advances in communications with Colombia. The situations with the corresponding agents, with the corresponding lawyers, have already been established and a couple of details need to be finalized. We have given until today for this communication and we hope, as there is a commitment, to have a complete resolution from Professor Rueda and the Federation of Colombia ”.
