Academics and Jewish organizations sent a letter of support to Daniel Jadue Before a report that denounces him as one of the 10 greatest anti-Semites of 2020, according to the Wiesenthal center.
By writing they gave their support to the mayor of Recoleta, and they repudiated the report from the center located in California, United States.
“Daniel Jadue has been a defender of Human Rights in the country (…) for the same reason, has criticized the racist policies of the State of Israel against the Palestinian population, as well as the military occupation that this country suffers at the hands of said State, ”the letter begins by saying.
“It is inconceivable that criticism of the State of Israel, which has created an Apartheid reality in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, is understood as a form of anti-semitism”He continued.
“The homologation of criticism of Zionism with anti-Semitism, made by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, works more as a form of intimidation against both freedom of expression and the search for justice in Human Rights matters ”, he adds.
“We call on all citizens and workers, academics, artists and all those who consider the value of the freedom of expression and the condemnation of intimidation as a way to annul the search for social justice, join in this rejection of the inclusion of Daniel Jadue in said report, ”the letter concluded.
