The ANFP released the video and audios of the controversial arbitration of Angelo Hermosilla, in the match between Universidad Católica and Audax Italiano. In the images you can see how the manager of the VAR, Cristian Garay, laments with a scribble, after the penalty not collected against Edson Puch and the subsequent goal of the Floridians.

“In the previous one, he lets himself fall, he lets himself fall,” Hermosilla repeats over and over again. His vision is supported by AVAR, Alejandro Molina, who also interprets that the offense on the crossed striker is not a maximum penalty, since, according to him, Puch magnifies.

To make matters worse, Molina recognizes the obvious contact, but ignores and approves the decision of the central judge, given Garay’s initial doubts. “There is a contact, but look how it falls,” justifies AVAR.

After a few moments, Garay, head of the VAR, with obvious doubts, suggests that it is better for Hermosilla to go to the monitor to review the play, so that everyone remains calm.

However, again Molina interferes, the assistant, who despite having clarity about the blow that Puch receives, recommends that Hermosilla not attend to review the play to the RRO, that is, to the review booth located on the side of the court. “Not for me, not for me to call; I think we are going to give expectations (sic) ”, he says.

At that moment, Garay calls Hermosilla and tells him that it is not a penalty and that the goal is confirmed. “Everything checked, Angelo”, communicates, before the complaints of the student campus.

The head of the referees, Jorge Osorio, who is also the head of the refereeing career at Inaf, that is, who trains the judges, defended the behavior of the referees. “In general, we are always going to have controversial situations in games, one of them was this weekend. Despite that, football will offer us this type of situation where there may be different opinions, decisions that can be subjective. However, in this play the procedure and protocol was applied correctly, ”he said.

“The referee was well located and determined that there was no fault in the situation that occurred and the VAR, seeing the images, supports the referee’s decision on the court,” he said.
