The Ministry of Health delivered on Monday the report on the situation of covid-19 in Chile, informing that 1,923 new cases of covid-19 have been registered in the country and 0 deaths, due to a lower registration in the Civil Registry due to the long weekend at Christmas.
Of the 1,923 new cases, there are 1,395 cases with symptoms and 489 asymptomatic, in addition to 39 that have not been notified, reaching a total of 602,028 cases of covid-19 in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 13,572 were in you find assets.
Regarding the deceased, the Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Alberto Dougnac, reported that 0 deaths were registered, due to a lower registration in the Civil Registry for the long weekend of Christmas.

“In no case does this represent data to consider or I would like to project and count for tomorrow, the daily record should slowly return to the numbers we have observed in recent weeks,” said Dougnac.
“It is due to a decrease in the number of registrations entered in the Civil Registry as a result of the Christmas party and the weekend. These figures will be updated in the following days and they will increase, they will be reflected in our daily balance ”, added later.
Regarding the hospital situation, the ministry reported that 734 people were hospitalized, 580 on mechanical ventilation and 59 in critical condition, in addition there are 273 ventilators available and 23,491 PCR tests were performed in the last 24 hours.
Regarding the vaccine, Minister Enrique Paris reported that 8,649 health officials have received the first dose in the country, qualifying the process as “successful.”
