“I followed an advice from my mother who told me ‘invest in bricks’, which would be in real estate,” says Joche Bibbó about the money he earned in the reality shows that made him famous.
The 36-year-old model from Córdoba became a character on the reality shows 40 or 20, Mundos Opuestos and Doble Tentación.
A few days ago Bibbó gave an interview to Martín Cárcamo in the space that the animator broadcasts on Instagram. There he referred to issues such as his arrival in Chile, at the age of 18, when he had no place to stay and the Coté López family helped him. “In a supermarket I met Coté López’s brother and they welcomed me into their house without knowing me,” he recalled.
Cárcamo also consulted him about his investments and this was the conversation:
Joche Bibbó: “Life spins like a tombola. I never imagined that I could have achieved … I came with an expectation of achieving something like that and I achieved something gigantic, in the sense that I was given many things that I never imagined.
“I knew how to take advantage of the opportunities that were given to me both in reality shows and people, because all the things that have been given to me are because of the affection of the people, which are the people who look at us every day or the people who support you. . And what I can tell you is that you don’t have to give up, what one least imagines are the things that happen and can get you ahead.
“I came from Córdoba to Chile looking for a better quality of life, to gather some mangoes and be able to buy something, start a business or be able to return to my house and have a way to help, and things that I never imagined were given elsewhere. and I am very grateful “
Martín Cárcamo: And were you able to capitalize on this? Could you save? How have you managed all those good silver years? “
Bibbó: “I was always a kind of distracted person to do business or things like that. To do business that generates a daily income you have to always be aware. If you put a restaurant or a kiosk you have to be very aware of everything.
“So I followed a piece of advice from my mom who told me ‘invest in bricks’, which would be real estate. So what I did with the money from reality shows, I saved, I got advice, I investigated with some banks, I bought four apartments in Las Condes, I rent them.
“I work on that in the real estate part. They were rented by Airbnb, which are daily rental apps. Now, with everything that happened in the pandemic, I have fixed leases. And he had another business, a rent a car and a production company with a friend. I have invested everything in real estate.
“The other is that I have set aside savings. In an account without a fixed term, without risk, I put a money that I do not touch, another money in a current account that is the one I use for daily spending “
Carcamo: “I mean, you’ve been an orderly person”
Bibbó: “I have been learning, I have been consulting, because money is spent. You can earn money, but sometimes it’s not a lot of money. What I mean is that you can have 100 million or a million dollars, the money is spent and if you don’t invest it, it goes away ”.
