The Regional Intendency of Valparaíso, in coordination with Onemi, decreed this Friday Red alert for the Valparaíso commune due to a forest fire in the Las Tablas estate sector.
The incident has so far consumed 1.5 hectares of vegetation. At the moment there is no spread, but it is a complex combat, as explained by the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf).

“We have had a fire of certain complexity in the Las Tablas sector called ‘Camino Melosilla’, which currently reaches 1.5 hectares and is without propagation“, detailed the regional director of Conaf, Sandro Bruzzone.
“Within the lines that built the 10 brigades that are fighting right now and we also have the aerial combat of five helicopters and six airplanes and of course, with the always permanent collaboration of the Valparaíso Fire Department, “said the representative of the Forestry Corporation.
According to estimates made by emergency teams in the area, the fire should begin to subside in the next few hours.
