Without going any further, the young man himself maintained that it was his grandfather who told him, years ago, to start singing Rafael’s songs and adopt his style on stage.
“He really liked this era of artists, music, the great idols of those times. Once at a fair I gave him a CD of Raphael, for things in life, and one day talking he told me that if he ever wanted to be an artist and have a reference, it should be him, because he is an artist who gives himself completely, who acts. And I listened to him ”, he commented.
Likewise, he also commented that he was amazed by the Spanish when he performed at the Viña del Mar Festival in 2005.
“(I liked it) when I saw him in Viña. I started imitating him at the age of 22, knowing only one topic. I went to try my luck, to the casting, I did the best I could and qualified, but I had strong competitors, colleagues who had been playing a character for years and there was a certain disadvantage, I was just starting out, “he said.
“Now, in 2020, I can feel developed, done, I have tried a lot and I think it has been seen on the screen, “he added.
It should be noted that Raphael beat the Mexican impersonator Ana Gabriel in the final, due to the fact that she got 35% of the electronic votes, while her partner got 20%.
