The Regional Ministry of Health Secretariat in the Maule region, it banned a Teno agricultural company, where a coronavirus outbreak was detected.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health, Marlenne Duran, after 90 of 103 farm workers tested positive for coronavirus PCR.
All the infected, natives of the region of La Araucanía, are in good health and were transferred to nursing homes.
Consequently, the health authority decided to ban the operation of the company and initiate an investigation to determine responsibilities and eventual fines.
“We performed 103 PCR and 90 were positive, it is a fairly important outbreak (…) the manager of the estate took people back to work despite the fact that they had been banned yesterday (Monday) from operating, ”explained Seremi Durán.
In parallel, in another agricultural company in the area 27 workers tested positive to detect covid, which is why guilt will also be investigated.
In this context, the Seremi de Salud reported that they will reinforce audits and also education of the workers on the protocols to avoid contagions, with the visit to the field of sanitary crews.
In the last day, the Maule region added 130 new coronavirus infections, totaling 23,550 so far as a pandemic in our country.
