Hours of anguish and uncertainty live these days the family of María Isabel Pavez Zamora, a 22-year-old girl who has been missing for several days when she contacted her mother and friends for the last time via WhatsApp.

The young second-year obstetrics student at the Diego Portales University and residing in the commune of La Florida, left her home last Thursday, the day her relatives physically lost track of her.

Where did María Isabel go? So far there are two versions, which neither family nor friends have been able to corroborate. Although the first thing to note, is that the -until now- lost young woman assured her mother and friends that her cell phone was showing failures after having “wet”.

Maria Isabel Assigned

In conversation with Publimetro, Lorena Zamora, María Isabel’s mother, points out that “we spoke on Thursday and on Friday she contacted me again by WhatsApp, she told me that she was where her ex-boyfriend was and there she tells me that her cell phone had gotten wet and that she could only write, that he could not receive audios or calls because he was sick, I deposited money for him to buy one, then he told me that he would try to buy it online and go get it on Saturday.

Zamora adds that “on Sunday she had to be at home, yes or yes, because we had an engagement. I went to her bedroom and she was not there, I knew I had to arrive, I began to ask her closest friends, nobody knew anything, her friends said that her last connection on social networks had been on Friday, and from there we are looking for her ”.

The Mysterious Tinder Date

Giselle Contreras, a friend of María Isabel, provides key clues to the young woman’s disappearance. “She gave four friends the information that she was going to meet someone she met on Tinder. I asked him for the location and he didn’t give it to me, but he did send it to a friend in the afternoon, ”says Giselle.

And he adds: “He sent an ambiguous address, which we want to leave to the police, because we went there, and it didn’t exist: the streets were parallel and the number did not match.”

Giselle assures that “the fact that she had to fix the phone works against us, on Friday she was going to buy it, and on Saturday she would go looking for it,” adding that “her last WhatsApp connection was on Friday at 11:44 p.m., that time he connected, read some messages from the group, left and did not reconnect “.

At the moment, all the concerns point to this supposed Tinder date. “We do not know anything about this person, María Isabel did not tell us anything. We tried to enter her profile to see if we found anything but nothing, we could not enter with her email.”

Mood and the ex boyfriend

The state of mind of María Isabel also attracted attention among her friends. “She was sad and away those days, probably because of the U, because of the stress, we didn’t understand very well, we said we gave her a space, she was also sad because she had finished with the boyfriend recently, it was a long polemic,” says the friend of the young woman.

Along these lines, Giselle assures that only this Tuesday they managed to contact her ex-boyfriend of the 22-year-old student, a young man whom she did not get to know. “He told us that he had not seen María Isabel since December 11. He told us that she went to see him because it was his birthday, gave him a hug and left.”

“They can’t do anything without a prosecutor’s order.”

Giselle reveals that it was only on Monday that the young woman’s mother learned of the existence of this supposed encounter generated through the dating app. After giving the information to Lorena, her family and friends filed a complaint for alleged misfortune with the Carabineros, but the search has not borne fruit.

This Tuesday, the family went to the Investigative Police, however, the answer was blunt: “They told us that they could not do anything without the order of a prosecutor,” says Giselle.

In the last few hours, search messages on social networks have been intensely vitalized. “Social networks have helped us a lot, hopefully they will help us find María Isabel later,” concludes the girl’s friend.
