The deputy Camila Flores (RN) asked the Government to deliver a bonus for Carabineros and the Armed Forces in the context of the health crisis, since it considers that they have played “a fundamental role” in the fight against the coronavirus.
The parliamentarian recalled that the number of new infections has increased in several regions: “more than ever we will need the deployment of Carabineros and Armed Forces. for the respective supervisions in each corner of the country. For this reason, I make a very heartfelt call to the Executive so that within the framework of the Public Sector Readjustment Bill 2021 an indication is entered and also makes possible the payment of a special COVID-19 health emergency bonus in the same amount that will be awarded to public health workers”.
The voucher to be delivered to public health officials will be $ 200,000, will not be taxable, nor will it constitute income for any legal effect.

“We have seen how public health workers have given their lives to save those of others infected by the coronavirus, and that is why the help pledged by the Government is more than necessary. But I also want to remind Minister Briones that the police and the officials of the Armed Forces. They have also ensured the integrity of citizens in this pandemic, many times without hours or rest, “said the RN deputy.
Finally, he stressed that the servants of both institutions “are constantly risking their lives when they monitor compliance with health standards, many times receiving mistreatment and ungrateful moments when exercising their work to guarantee order and security in the country, especially during curfews, away from their children and their wives, reflecting their love for their homeland ”.
