After the Minister of Finance, Ignacio Briones, agreed to grant bonuses to workers of public health services in an exceptional manner with a bonus to be paid no later than January 2021, the deputy for National Renovation, Camila Flores, asked the head of the fiscal wallet for similar monetary compensation for officials of the Carabineros and Armed Forces.
For the legislator of Chile Vamos, without a doubt, both institutions have played a fundamental role in the daily fight against the lethal virus and, therefore, are a key element in controlling the disease.
“Unfortunately, the covid-19 is rebounding in several regions, therefore, more than ever we will need the deployment of Carabineros and Armed Forces for the respective supervisions in every corner of the country. For this reason, I make a very heartfelt call to the Executive so that within the framework of the Public Sector Readjustment Law Project 2021 an indication is entered and also makes possible the payment of a special covid-19 health emergency bonus in the same amount as it will grant them to the health workers of the public system ”, proposed the deputy.
“We have seen how public health workers have given their lives to save those of others infected by the coronavirus, and that is why the help pledged by the Government is more than necessary. But also I want to remind Minister Briones that the police and Armed Forces officials have also ensured the integrity of the citizenry in this pandemic, many times without hours or rest”, Stressed the official parliamentarian.
“As public servants, Carabineros and the Armed Forces are constantly risking their lives when they oversee compliance with health standards, often receiving mistreatment and ungrateful moments when exercising their work to guarantee order and security in the country, above all, during curfews, away from their children and their wives, reflecting their love for their homeland, ”Flores said.
