The Ministry of Health provided new details of the contingency plans for Christmas and New Years amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which includes modifications in the curfew hours and in the capacity for meetings.
The Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Katherine Martorell, confirmed that On Christmas night, that is, from November 24 to 25, the curfew will begin at 02:00 and will last until 05:00.
Meanwhile, on New Year’s Eve this measure will begin at 02:00 and will end at 07:00 on January 1.
In relation to the capacity for meetings in open or closed spaces, both at Christmas and New Years, only residents for communes that are in phase 1, Quarantine, may attend; while In phase 2, Transition, the concentrations may not exceed 15 participants, including residents.
This figure rises to 20 people in the case of Phase 3, Preparation, and 30 people in Phase 4, Initial Opening.
It should be remembered that mass events will be prohibited on both dates.
Permits for older adults and sanitary cords
For December 24 and 25, a special permission to visit resident older adults in quarantined communes.
This permit will be available at the Virtual Police Station and may be used in meetings in which only two people participate, in addition to the elderly.
For the New Years celebration too there will be sanitary cords in regional macrozones, which will be in force between 6:00 p.m. on December 30 and 5:00 a.m. on January 2.
