After the alarm that arose this weekend by the appearance in England of a strain of coronavirus that is contagious more quickly, which has led several European countries to ban travel to and from Great Britain, during the night of this Sunday, December 20, Government of Chile reported through a statement that “Foreigners who have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days are prohibited from entering the country, due to their epidemiological situation.”

Chile determined the prohibition of all direct flights between our country and the United Kingdom; the prohibition of entry to all non-resident foreigners on a regular basis who have been in the United Kingdom in the last 14 days, and the obligation to all Chileans and resident foreigners on a regular basis to enter the country, and who have been in the United Kingdom during the last 14 days, to carry out a mandatory 14-day quarantine in Chile.

These measures will take effect from 00:00 hours on Tuesday, December 22, and will be temporary for two weeks, after which they will be evaluated again.
