Government prohibits entry to foreigners coming from the United Kingdom due to a new strain of coronavirus | National

The Government of Chile reported this Sunday night about the prohibition of entry to our country to all foreigners (non-residents) who have been in the United Kingdom during the last 14 days, after a new strain of the coronavirus was detected there that seems to be more contagious.

Through a statement, La Moneda explained that the announcement is a consequence “of the information provided by the UK authorities, and its epidemiological situation.

Specifically, the Executive reported that from 00:00 hours on Tuesday, December 22, the following measures come into effect (preliminary for two weeks):

1.- The suspension of all direct flights between the United Kingdom and Chile.

2.- The entry ban for all non-resident foreigners who have been in the United Kingdom on a regular basis in the last 14 days.

3.- The obligation for all Chileans and resident foreigners who enter the country on a regular basis, and who have been in the United Kingdom during the last 14 days, to carry out a mandatory 14-day quarantine in Chile.
