The information was released by the regional prosecutor of Aysén, Carlos Palma, who in an interview with El Mercurio revealed that he decided to formalize the case, after having a series of evidences that would show that more than 500 retired and 270 current employees they would be involved in this investigation.
“We have only finished the search and seizure proceedings at the end of November. We are in the process of analyzing the evidence, but we can already say that there is a number close to 800 people who they will be subject to formalization, at different times, of course, and due to different degrees of responsibility in the coming months ”, he assured the aforementioned media.
The president of the National Association of Prosecutors, Claudio Uribe, pointed out that this fact marks a milestone in the definition of responsibilities.

This investigation of alleged fraud to the treasury covers the years 2007 and 2017, and which occurs after the closing of the Mutual Aid Fund, also known as FAM.
In particular, the creation of a formula in the military zone of the XI Region is investigated, where the uniformed men deposited money monthly, to withdraw it once they left the institution.
