This Saturday a new epidemiological report due to the advance of covid-19 in Chile.
The report notifies that 41 communes in the country exceed 100 active cases, while deaths from coronavirus, between confirmed and suspected, is 21,421.
The data in the document, which corresponds to December 17, indicate that the regions with the highest incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants are Magallanes (9,726.3), Tarapacá (4,469.2) and Metropolitan (4,337.2).
The communes with the most active cases are, according to the previous report, Puerto Montt with 455, Punta Arenas with (420), Valdivia (416) Concepción (418), Los Ángeles (392), Iquique (344), Temuco (300), Chillán (324), Coronel (290) and Puente Alto (324).
According to the report, of the confirmed and probable reported cases in Epivigila, the average age is 38 years, 6.68% corresponds to children under 15 years of age, 24.49% are people between 15 and 29, 29.38% are patients between 30 and 44 years old, 28.53% are people between 45-64, and finally 10.92% are older than 65 years.
Deaths
The Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) also delivered the latest report regarding deaths in the country.
The total deaths by covid-19 is 21,421, of which 16,101 are confirmed and 5,320 suspects.
These cases correspond to 17.78% of all deaths in the country “according to the observations and recommendations of the WHO / PAHO for the coding of deaths resulting from covid-19,” according to the DEIS.
