British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Saturday that London and South East England will return to lockdown Starting tomorrow, Sunday, to try to stop a rise in covid-19 infections, attributed to a new strain discovered there.
“It appears that this spread is fueled by a new variant of the virus”, which is transmitted “much more easily”, declared the prime minister in a press conference.

The United Kingdom is the country in Europe hardest hit by the pandemic along with Italy, with more than 67,000 deaths. Added to this, it has already exceeded the threshold of 2 million cases.
