The Ministry of Health reported 2,404 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, a new record number in the last five months.
The last time this number of coronavirus infections was recorded was five months ago, in detail, on July 23, 2,371 cases were reported and, the next day, there were 2,545.
Of the 2,404 cases reported this day, 1,551 of them have symptoms and 809 asymptomatic, raising the figure to 12,468 active cases in the country, with a total of 581,135.

In addition, the Minsal indicated that in the last 24 hours there were 44 deaths, according to information from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), exceeding 16 thousand deaths in total.
There are currently 668 people hospitalized in intensive care units, of which 482 are on mechanical ventilation support and 62 are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, regarding the testing, the health authority indicated that 47,534 PCR tests were carried out on the last day.

“Only one region decreases its new cases in the last seven days and two regions in the last 14 days “, detailed the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, adding that “we see with concern the increase in cases in recent days. I ask that we all make an effort and take care of ourselves.”
In the daily report, the regions that registered the most cases the last day were the Metropolitana (655), Biobío (475), Araucanía (219), Maule (184), Los Lagos (165) and Valparaíso (137).
The positivity in the last week at the national level is 4.73 percent and Paris said that the Magallanes Region “continues to show a significant decrease in the incidence rate per 100 thousand inhabitants, but it continues to be the highest in the country” .
For their part, regions with the highest increase in new cases confirmed in the last seven days are Antofagasta, Tarapacá, Arica and Maule.
