This Thursday a new coronavirus balance was delivered by the Bío Bío authorities, where the serious situation of the hospital network in the zone.
Until the day, the availability of critical beds in the public and private system is 23 of 195 ICU and 21 of 150 ICU. To this is added that in the last 24 hours 409 new infections were added of coronavirus.
BioBioChile asked the Talcahuano Health Service for a breakdown of the availability of ICU and ICU beds in hospitals in the region, which accounts for the complex scenario in place.

Arauco Health Service
As reported by Radio Bío Bío, in the province of Arauco there are no hospitals that have availability of ICU and ICU beds.
According to the document, the Curanilahue Hospital registers a 0% availability.
The deputy medical director of the Arauco Health Service, Rodrigo Díaz, confirmed the collapse of the system and added that “As a hospital health network we are required”.
Bío Bío Health Service
In the case of the province of Bío Bío, despite the greater availability of beds, the main hospital in the area registered a coronavirus outbreak.
Until this Thursday there were nine of 32 ICU beds and nine of 28 ICUs available. This equates to a 28% and 32% respectively.
Currently there 103 infected people and 344 close contacts due to the coronavirus outbreak inside the Víctor Ríos Ruiz Hospital in Los Angeles, where it was already reported that there is a serious official.
Concepción Health Service
In the case of the Regional Hospital of Concepción and the Traumatology Hospital, the situation is a little better, within the serious scenario that exists in the region.
The staff at Guillermo Grant Benavente is 64 ICU beds, of which 57 are occupied and seven are available, that is, 11%. Regarding ICUs, the endowment is 30, where 28 are occupied and only two are available.
In the Traumatological Hospital, which only has ICU beds, the staff is seven. Six are busy.
Talcahuano Health Service
The Talcahuano Health Service is made up of the Higueras Hospital, the Tomé Hospital and the Penco-Lirquén Hospital.
In the case of Higueras, the staff is 42 ICU, where there is only one available. ICU has 12 beds and all are occupied.
In Tomé there are no ICU beds available and in Lirquén there is only one unoccupied ICU.
Consolidation of adult beds in public and private areas
Finally, the consolidated number of adult beds in public areas is 12% ICU and 14% ICU available in public health centers.
In the case of private companies it is 12% ICU and 13% ICU. This corresponds to six available of 51 and eight of 60, respectively.
From the Health Service they emphasized that the strategy lies in the mobility of patients between one facility and another, in addition to the conversion of beds, so the figures they change dailyHowever, the data show the serious situation in the Bío Bío region.
