U. Católica │ Cruzados reveals the model of the new San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium

This Thursday came the longing announcement for the Cruzados fans, because Universidad Católica presented the architectural design of the new San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium, and which is expected to be released by the end of 2023.

The space driven by Francisca García-Huidobro, a renowned UC fan, set out showing different parts of the club’s history: from the great titles, emblematic players or remembering unfortunate moments such as the funeral of Raimundo tupper.

Then, in the voice of Juan Pablo Pareja, manager of Cruzados, some of the details of the sports project that will have an investment of 30 million dollars and that includes a multipurpose space to host different events, whether sports, business or shows.

In addition to this, the new Cruzado enclosure contemplates modernizing the press room, dressing rooms, galleries, medical facilities, among other areas of the place, and which aims to have a better coexistence with the residents of Las Condes, and become the most modern stadium in Chile and South America.




Further, Pareja reported that the name of the stadium will be sold to a brand in order to acquire extra income that can help cover this investment. Also, it was reported that the Spanish architecture company Idom, who made the new San Mamés Stadium, among others, will be in charge of developing the project.

Finally, the leaders announced the project schedule, the one that began a few years ago and that Construction is expected to begin in 2022 so that, in the last quarter of 2023, it can be officially presented.
