Truck and cars star in multiple collisions on the road between Alto Hospicio and Iquique | National

A serious traffic accident occurred during the afternoon of this Thursday on Route-16 that connects the communes of Alto Hospicio and Iquique in the Tarapacá region.

The collision occurred in the direction of Iquique, after -according to preliminary information- a truck will have brake problems, impacting 6 other minor vehicles.

Images of the place show the magnitude of the accident, where a bus of collective locomotion was also involved.

Specific, the emergency occurred past the train line, causing the total interruption of traffic. That is why drivers are asked to take alternative roads such as the “new route” to Iquique.

Until the site of the event, emergency units were dispatched from Firefighters and the SAMU, together with Carabineros patrols, until now the number of wounded is known.
