A group of students from the National Assembly of Secondary Students, ACES, took over the facilities of the SENAME regional office, located in the commune of Providencia, demanding the freedom of minors who were arrested in the protests of the social outbreak, in addition to rejecting the surrender of the next university selection test, called transition, noting that sanitary conditions do not exist.

Catalina Garay, spokeswoman for ACES, said that the Government insists that this test must be given in January, when it is expected an increase in contagion of covid-19, anticipating that the surrender process will not take place, while their companions are still detained.

The other Aces spokesperson, Marcos Faure, said that they will mobilize against the surrender of the transitional PSU, ensuring that thousands of students have not even been able to prepare in optimal conditions for the tests.

When consulted the Undersecretary of Higher Education, Juan Eduardo Vargas, about the announcement of the mobilization of the Aces, he pointed out that this admission process seeks to be more equitable, adding that this is a fairer university selection test and those who take it deserve an environment safe and quiet.

Leonor Varas, director of the Department of Educational Evaluation, Measurement and Registration of the University of Chile. He hopes that a similar event to the January 2020 process does not occur, which involved suspending and rescheduling the performance of the Language and Mathematics tests, and remove History due to a leak.

The tests are fixed in two groups, for January 4 and 5 and 7 and 8. This Monday, meanwhile, it will be known on which days each applicant must take the tests, while the places of surrender will be known only 2 days before the process.
