“A pet today is part of the family”
He national director of Sernac, Lucas del Villar, stressed that a compensation proposal would be reached after several months of negotiations, which included a public consultation with consumers themselves, as well as coordination with the SAG and consultation with the Veterinary Medical College to obtain more information.
“No amount can compensate for health problems and less the death of a pet, who today are considered part of families “, he reflected Del Villar.
Notwithstanding, “with this proposal, at least timely compensation is being delivered and basic demands are made to ensure that this does not happen again “he added.
“Nobody buys a food thinking that their pet can get sick from it, and people deserve to trust that the product is safe for their health,” Del Villar said.
At present, the proposal submitted by the company is under public consultation, where Affected consumers may, between Saturday, December 19, 2020, make their suggestions or observations. After the citizen consultation, the proposal will be presented to the courts for approval.
