The undersecretary of the Interior, Juan Francisco Galli rejected the project that seeks to pardon the detainees during the social outbreak, after the President Sebastián Piñera will announce that he will veto the initiative if it advances in Congress.
Galli said that “this is a bill of impunity, of impunity for destruction, the burning of buses, even impunity for those who throw Molotov cocktails or incendiary devices.”
The undersecretary criticized the initiative by assuring that it is contemplated to pardon those who have committed an attempted murder. “He says that a person who has tried to kill another is not subject to criminal reproach,” Galli said.
