It is almost a fact that Reinaldo Rueda will become the replacement for Carlos Queiroz in the bank of Colombia. With almost everything settled, with the negotiation very well outlined, there is an aspect that is fundamental for the coach from Cali and with respect to which he still has not reached an agreement, and it has to do with the extension of the contract that will join him with the Colombian national team.

On the other hand, Rueda, who already had a step on the Colombian bench in a similar situation, wants something more in the long term, which allows him to go beyond the next ecumenical tournament, if he qualifies.

Given that this team is also advancing in the renewal process of the generation that was in the last two World Cups, he understands that the task of reaching the Asian event now will not be easy, he aspires to be given the chance to guide the process which, he is sure, would lead him successfully to Canada-United States-Mexico 2026.
A logical aspiration of the DT, who sees the future potential of young Colombians, ends up being a detail that could be decisive and lock up a negotiation that seems to be destined to materialize.
